I finally got some photos uploaded of the first of the pair. I’m about half way up the palm on the second mitten, about to get to the fingers.
Looking at these, I realize that I need to get photos of someone wearing them.
I used Jeny Staiman’s Interlock Bindoff (from the Spring/Summer 2011 issue of Knitty) for several of these fingers… and I love it. Which is not the same as saying that I’ve memorized it.
I’m particularly pleased with the job I did in picking up stitches across the back of the hand (where I joined the pop-cap portion of the mitten). I haven’t previously done a particularly crafty job of such tasks. I stretched the fabric out across my left hand, and working in strong morning light during my 30-minute train ride to work, I was able to pick up one side of each stitch across the back, using a steel US #0 DPN.
Nice work!
Thanks, Becca! I appreciate you stopping by.
Spectacular!
Nathan, thanks… I wouldn’t go that far! (but I have some projects planned that may rise to that level!) š
Hi, I actually have a question about this pattern, that I’m hoping you can help me with. I’m at the THUMB GUSSET INCREASE section and I have my yarn on 4 needles. So the way it goes is : Knit to the second last stitch of the second row , purl the stitch and then knit the last stitch in that row, knit the next row and then____?
I was wondering what I do after that. Do I knit another row and the start the pattern over from the same place I started it last time? Or after I knit the “make even” row I begin the pattern from there. Hopefully this all makes sense to you š I’d be grateful if you could point me in the right direction.
I’ll try to look at the pattern tonight. Have you searched ravelry for others with the same question?
Leslie, did you ever find help about the thumb gusset, I am at the same spot.
Thanks
Kay

I had questions about the broad street mitten, I am about to do the Thumb gusset and I am confused with the wording, when I have looked a video’s of doing mittens or gloves most show them on 3 needles not 4 so that had me a bit perplexed I know there are some errors in the writing of the pattern and didnt know if you had info on how you did them
Thank you
Kay
