In June of &#8217;09 I finally finished my first pair of socks intended for me. I made these cuff-down, two-at-at-time on a long circular needle. They are made with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ravelry.com\/yarns\/library\/mountain-colors-bearfoot\">Mountain Colors Bearfoot<\/a>. Size 12.5 US Men&#8217;s socks are big socks.<\/p>\n<p>I ran out of yarn about half way along the foot. My wife <a title=\"A multitude of minor miracles at Stitches\" href=\"http:\/\/myrriah.com\/?p=13\" target=\"_blank\">wrote about how we found additional yarn<\/a> on her blog&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/jorahlavin.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/12\/socks_for_me_2009_06.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-171\" title=\"socks_for_me_2009_06\" src=\"http:\/\/jorahlavin.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/12\/socks_for_me_2009_06.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"Socks I made for myself\" width=\"300\" height=\"278\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve worn the socks a couple of dozen times, I&#8217;d guess. They&#8217;d get more use except that they&#8217;re so warm that I can&#8217;t wear them except on the coldest days. The soles have fulled a bit, but that&#8217;s not a problem. I&#8217;m still very pleased with them.
