{"id":929,"date":"2013-12-07T09:04:52","date_gmt":"2013-12-07T14:04:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/madstone.net\/bugout\/?p=95"},"modified":"2013-12-07T09:04:52","modified_gmt":"2013-12-07T14:04:52","slug":"the-best-items-to-use-for-barter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/madstone.net\/?p=929","title":{"rendered":"The Best Items to Use For Barter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>From: &#8216;The Best Items to Use For Barter in a Post-Collapse World&#8217;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.backdoorsurvival.com\/41-items-to-barter\/\">http:\/\/www.backdoorsurvival.com\/41-items-to-barter\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>There are a lot of different opinions as to what items will be best for barter in a post-collapse world where the underground economy may be the only viable economy for the passing of goods and services.\u00a0 That said, consider this a starting point as you begin to acquire goods for barter.<\/p>\n<p>In no particular order, consider accumulating some of the following items for barter purposes.\u00a0 And keep in mind that in a post-collapse world, the items do not necessarily have to be new, but simply serviceable.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a title=\"water purification supplies\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/s?ie=UTF8&amp;search-alias=sporting&amp;ref_=a9_sc_1&amp;qid=1314595250&amp;field-keywords=water%20purification%20supplies#?rh=n:3375251,k:water purification supplies,p_76:1249176011?_encoding=UTF8&amp;tag=continmoti-20&amp;linkCode=ur2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957\" target=\"_blank\">Water purification supplies<\/a>\u00a0including purification tabs and filters<\/li>\n<li>Hand tools including hatchets, saws, machetes and general fix-it tools<\/li>\n<li>Fire making supplies, including lighters, matches, flint\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B0013L4F1U\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=gaye-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=B0013L4F1U\" target=\"_blank\">fire steel<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Sanitary supplies including toilet paper, feminine products and diapers<\/li>\n<li>Disposable razors and razor blades<\/li>\n<li>Fuel, any and all kinds (gas, diesel, propane, kerosene)<\/li>\n<li>Prescription drugs, painkillers, and antibiotics<\/li>\n<li>First aid remedies such as cough syrup, cortisone cream, boil-ese, calamine lotion and topical pain relievers<\/li>\n<li>Spirits such as bourbon, rum, gin, and vodka<\/li>\n<li>Coffee and tea (instant coffee is okay)<\/li>\n<li>Solar battery charger and rechargeable batteries<\/li>\n<li>Standard Batteries<\/li>\n<li>Reading glasses<\/li>\n<li>Paracord<\/li>\n<li>Bags, including large garbage bags as well as smaller zip-close bags<\/li>\n<li>Plastic sheeting<\/li>\n<li>Duct tape<\/li>\n<li>Tie Wraps<\/li>\n<li>Heavy plastic sheets and tarps<\/li>\n<li>Toiletries including toothpaste, dental floss soaps, shampoo (tip: save those small sized toiletries that are provided by hotels and motels)<\/li>\n<li>Condoms<\/li>\n<li>Latex or Nitrile gloves in a variety of sizes<\/li>\n<li>Hard\u00a0 candy<\/li>\n<li>Fishing supplies<\/li>\n<li>Knives of various types including fixed blades, kitchen knives, and box cutters.<\/li>\n<li>Condiments and Spices<\/li>\n<li>Paperback books on a variety of subjects<\/li>\n<li>Tobacco and cigarette rolling supplies<\/li>\n<li>Amusements such as playing cards, crossword puzzle books, Sudoku<\/li>\n<li>Pencils &amp;
