I was very interested in the cotton; it was smooth, easy to knit, and very soft. I heard several people comment that it didn&#8217;t feel anything like cotton yarn. I will be buying some of this as soon as it comes out in 2009. I&#8217;ll have to check with some of the other Guild members to get the name of this yarn; I failed to keep my notes from the event! Sorry&#8230; but I&#8217;ll update as soon as I can.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 144px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/madstone.net\/weblog\/uploaded_images\/2008-Dec-Universal-Yarn-Tasting.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"some Universal Yarn samples\" src=\"http:\/\/madstone.net\/weblog\/uploaded_images\/thumbs\/2008-Dec-Universal-Yarn-Tasting.jpg\" alt=\"Poem Sock at the top...\" width=\"144\" height=\"176\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Poems Sock at the top...<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Myr was particularly interested in the <a title=\"See the Poems page on Universal's site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.universalyarn.com\/quality_color.php?quality=66\" target=\"_blank\">Poems sock yarn<\/a>, which is un-plied and gives every indication that it would be a lot of fun to knit with. She was so taken by the stuff that I know we&#8217;ll be investing in some as soon as the $$ situation gets a little better.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting we learned some details about the Guild&#8217;s first knitting retreat, coming up in February. I&#8217;d love to go, but for some reason the property tax payment comes first. One of the reasons I&#8217;d like to go to the retreat is that Charlene Schurch of <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&amp;location=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fs%3Fie%3DUTF8%26x%3D0%26ref%255F%3Dnb%255Fss%255F%255F0%255F15%26y%3D0%26field-keywords%3Dsensational%2520knitted%2520socks%26url%3Dsearch-alias%253Daps%26sprefix%3Dsensational%2520kni&amp;tag=macmethods&amp;linkCode=ur2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957\">Sensational Knitted Socks<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border:none!important;margin:0!important;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=macmethods&amp;l=ur2&amp;o=1\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" \/><\/em> fame will be there.
